We work in partnership with the Sunderland safeguarding Adults' Board to minimise risks, protect people's rights and provide support in a person-centred way which enables choice and control.
Learning from our participation in a number of safeguarding partnerships and leadership forums, we embed good practice and implement change where we recognise it is needed. Our own safeguarding adults forum leads on the development of the safeguarding strategy for the company while ensuring that key messages are shared through effective communication and reflective practice.
We use a variety of training courses and providers that have been carefully selected to ensure that our staff teams are well trained and able to identify and respond appropriately to any concerns. All our leaders are trained to manage safeguarding effectively in their services, in areas such as mental capacity, raising and responding to concerns, leading the safeguarding process and working in a multi-agency forum. We also work consistently to ensure that our teams are aware of the risks associated with the provision of care and the potential development of poor cultures, supporting them to identify any issues and respond if concerns arise.
